Ericsson Agency has recently been formed within Ericsson’s Service Delivery & Operations organization to strengthen our global capability to source resources for high growth markets, drive cost effectiveness and improve service delivery excellence when using contractors. In line with the initiative, we are now looking for SENIOR contract based Core Network Integration Engineers, willing to be engaged on multiple short term contracts (performance and demand dependent) within our high growth market areas.
Senior Core Network Integration Engineers (Contract Based)
Responsibilities:
This could include but not be limited to:
• Responsible for integration of the hardware and software of solutions in a new network or upgrade of an existing network in accordance to customer requirements and Ericsson’s Integration Process.
• Perform pre-integration site checks according to installed hardware and system requirements to ensure that all equipment is ready for integration.
• Thorough appreciation of the system/network design principles, implement and troubleshoot the configuration of the new elements into the system and its interfaces to gain resolution of any problems.
• Feature verification or acceptance test for new equipment/function implementation/integration projects.
• Prepare system demonstrations and acceptance as required.
• Provide detailed level progress and status reports according to project requirements.
• Act as a point of technical coordination escalation for on-site problems and issues.
• Knowledge Sharing, On Job Training (OJT) and mentoring of the local delivery workforce to build local competence.
Essential Experience:
Formal qualifications: Bachelor degree in Engineering or IT/Computer Science (Telecommunication, Electrical, etc) with at least 5 years experience in networking and/or telecom infrastructure or the equivalent theoretical background acquired through experience and/or in any other way.
• Knowledge of Ericsson MSC-Server, MGw, HLR, TSS, STP.
• Knowledge of the following protocols: SS7, Sigtran, ISUP, Nb, ATM, IP.
• Working experience in Unix (i.e. Solaris) including system installation, system administration or Unix scripting.
• Knowledge of server applications, systems and office applications.
• Be able to work as part of a team or independently.
• Ability to work in challenging working environments (geographical, climate, social).
• Excellent level of English.
Desirable Experience:
• Strong troubleshooting and fault tracing techniques is an added advantage.
• Experience with telecommunication planning or design would be an advantage. Previous experience working for Ericsson in a similar role

Job Locations:
Vacancies throughout the world but in particular within Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Availability:
Successful applicants would be expected to be available to take up a position within the next three months. Note that engagement as a Contractor in no way constitutes an employment agreement with Ericsson. Rather, as a Contractor under the Ericsson Agency umbrella, you would be given priority placement over free lance contractors to prime, short term roles within Ericsson’s service delivery. In return, Ericsson Agency will be proactively looking at subsequent assignments and your competence development.
