Ericsson Agency has recently been formed within Ericsson’s Service Delivery & Operations organization to strengthen our global capability to source resources for high growth markets, drive cost effectiveness and improve service delivery excellence when using contractors. In line with the initiative, we are now looking for experienced contract based System Integration Customer Project Managers, willing to be engaged on multiple short term contracts (performance and demand dependent) within our high growth market areas.

System Integration Customer Project Managers (Contract Based)

Responsibilities:

•    The SI Customer Project Manager role is to manage the end to end delivery of customer facing Systems Integration projects to cost time and quality requirements.

PM is also responsible for, but not limited to:

•    Manages Systems Integration Customer projects, to secure that the project goals are met, that the Customer’s expectations are fulfilled and that the customer relation is handled in the best possible way within the scope of the contract.
•    Responsible for all project activities during the project establishment, execution and conclusion phases. The responsibility mainly consists of planning, setting up, and executing the project activities, ensuring that the project goals are met and that the customer’s business requirements are fulfilled.
•    Overall responsibility to achieve the project goals with respect to functions, time and budget, and for the progress of the project. He/she administers plans, risk handling, resource issues and reports to the project sponsor.
•    Manage the customer relationship and the customer’s expectations and thus handle changes in an appropriate way in conjunction with the requirements for the projects as described in the project specification. Handling expectations is extremely important to ensure a satisfied customer.
•    The SI Customer Project Manager may have project staff members to support them, however, the SI Customer Project Manager maintains overall responsibility.
•    Follow the Ericsson Project Management Model – PROPS C

Essential Experience:

Formal qualifications: Bachelor degree in Engineering or IT/Computer Science (Telecommunication, Electrical, etc) or the equivalent theoretical background acquired through experience and/or in any other way.

•    Minimum of five years Project Management experience with two years experience of managing complex Systems Integration Projects with proven responsibility in all phases; - pre-sales, pre-study, project delivery Management and Service Layer.
•    Experience of managing third party suppliers/partners within project scope.
•    Proven ability to adapt, improve and implement handling of scope, risks, changes inc. customer adaptations, solution management/support.
•    Customer Management competence with proven experience in presentations, negotiations, agreements, conflicts and customer expectations.
•    Proven understanding of how to apply different business solutions to the SI domain to support customer’s operations, business and their value add.
•    PMI certification or similar is preferred.
•    Strong negotiation, communication and relationship skills are required.
•    Must have handled projects over 2 Million USD
•    Multi tasking and able to meet deadlines.
•    Ability to work in challenging working environments (geographical, climate, social).
•    Motivational leadership with the ability to adopt style as situation demands.
•    Good understanding of SAP, Microsoft Project and Office at intermediate level.
•    Excellent organizational skills.
•    Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
•    Excellent level of English.
•    Knowledge Sharing, On Job Training (OJT) and mentoring of the local delivery workforce to build local competence.

Desirable Experience:

•    Good operational and technical knowledge of telecoms in an evolving market place is an advantage.
•    Previous experience working for Ericsson in a similar role
•    Ericsson processes and tools including PROPS-C the Ericsson Project Management Model.

Vacancies throughout the world but in particular within Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Availability:

Successful applicants would be expected to be available to take up a position within the next three months. Please note that engagement as a Contractor in no way constitutes an employment agreement with Ericsson.  Rather, as a Contractor under the Ericsson Agency umbrella, you would be given priority placement over free lance contractors to prime, short term roles within Ericsson’s service delivery.  In return, Ericsson Agency will be proactively looking at subsequent assignments and your competence development.  Contract periods would typically be 2-9 months duration (subject to availability and appropriate work permits being issued).  Interested candidates MUST apply online via Ericsson Career website.
