XBase / Clipper / FoxPro Developer
An exciting opportunity to work with an existing xBase operation and administration solution targeted at transport companies. The application is written in Harbour, which is an open source hybrid of clipper. The application includes Accounting, Contacts management, Consignments, Workshop, Warehouse and Payroll.
Roles And Responsibilities:
An xBase Developer is responsible for the supporting and maintaining the application that runs on Windows Desktops. Development work involves modifying/enhancing existing modules and creating new projects to meet customer mission critical requirements. The developer will also oversee the conversion of the desktop application to run on the Web.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, business technology or related field
• Programming/analysis experience
• Project management/planning and team leadership experience
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Solid, demonstrable skills in xBase language Clipper, Foxpro etc.
• Solid, demonstrable skills in C
• Must have experience with industry standard system design and development methods and techniques (i.e. OOP).
• Independent, having strong analytical & troubleshooting skills, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Possess good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English, and a positive and outcome based work attitude
• Understand and work with web applications.
• Accounting skills would be an advantage
• Familiarity with Supply chain solutions is an advantage
• Self taught applicants would be considered.
